The Lower Valley Community Food Bank’s mission is to help end hunger and increase opportunities for families to meet their nutritional needs with health and dignity.

The Food Bank’s 2013 distribution will be held in the Springdale Borough building (325 School Street, Springdale, PA 15144) at the following dates:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Central Presbyterian Church of Tarentum offers a clothing ministry in its Fellowship Hall at 305 Allegheny Street every Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Volunteers are needed to receive donations, fold and sort clothing, arrange displays, and assist clients. In addition to adult volunteers who have a passion for clothes and helping others, young people who need to fulfill requirements for community service (scouting groups, high school students) are also welcome.

Oktoberfest Dinner To Benefit Youth @ St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Centennial Hall

An Oktoberfest celebration to benefit at-risk youth will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Saxonburg. The event will include a traditional German food buffet or Thoma’s roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, silent auction and quilt raffle.
Proceeds from the annual dinner will benefit the Winnie McGee Caring Fund at Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople. Glade Run provides residential and off-site programs for more than 4,000 children and families annually. Glade Run, established in 1854, is the oldest Lutheran ministry for children in continual operation in the United States.
Dinner tickets are $10 for ages 13 to adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children up to 4. Food will be served in Centennial Hall on State Street behind the church. Take-out orders and parking are available. Tickets can be obtained at the door or by calling the church office at 724-352-2333.

She has received her homeopathic certification through Hahnemann Academy of North America. Her studies in the higher science of Medical Alchemy have been with Robin Murphy, ND and Marcus E. Haubenstricker, Ph.D. and she has also completed training with international practitioners Dr. S.K. Banerjea, A.U. Ramakrishnan, MD., PhD., and numerous others. Her local instruction has been through Thomas Heard, Jr., MA.
